Kristina Kapourelakos
Fashion Designer & Alterations Specialist
Kristina Kapourelakos is a fashion designer and alterations specialist with a strong foundation in couture craftsmanship and over a decade of diverse industry experience.
She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute in New York City in 2009. During her studies and shortly after graduating, she interned with Mattia, a former bridal designer trained under Richard Glasgow. Under Mattia’s mentorship, Kristina refined her couture finishing techniques and assisted during several New York Fashion Week seasons at Chado Ralph Rucci.
After graduation, Kristina joined Spaeth Design, where she led the fabrication of large-scale art installations for experiential marketing campaigns. Her work included iconic storefront displays for flagship retailers such as Hudson’s Bay Company, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, and Saks Fifth Avenue. She played a key role in designing and producing their celebrated Spring Flower Shows and holiday window installations.
She was later commissioned by Brooklyn Boulders—New York City’s first indoor rock climbing facility—to design and construct a custom crash pad system spanning 2,000 square feet of bouldering space.
Kristina returned to high fashion with renowned designer Naeem Khan, contributing to both the Fall 2014 and Bridal 2014–2015 collections. She later joined Enaura Bridal, where she took on multifaceted responsibilities in design, production, quality control, and bridal market presentations.
After relocating to Boston, Kristina brought her expertise to L’élite Bridal, where she quickly became a top-performing stylist at the L’élite Occasions boutique. She worked closely with brides, mothers of the bride, and special occasion clients, and assisted the buyer in curating collections that reflected the store’s elevated aesthetic. She later explored startup fashion at Paridaez, a contemporary activewear brand, which eventually led her to a design and production role at Merrow Manufacturing in Fall River, MA.
Kristina’s passion for bridal and eveningwear ultimately brought her closer to home. During the pandemic, she revived her independent design practice, working out of a friend’s dry cleaning facility turned studio. There, she reunited with Loan, a former colleague from L’élite and the only seamstress who remained on staff during the shutdown. Together, they transformed and expanded the tailoring department into a personalized, by-appointment service.
Today, Kristina offers expert alterations and custom design services, combining couture-level craftsmanship with thoughtful, individualized attention. Equipped with top-of-the-line pressing tools and a deep commitment to client care, she takes pride in helping people look and feel their best.
